Features
- Metal-forming lubricants is best in lubricity, cooling, scrap-metal removal and protection against corrosion.
- It ensure that tools, dies and other metal-forming components will work to produce as much of the end-product parts with a minimum amount of maintenance due to degradation from excessive heat, wear and corrosion.
- Metal-forming fluids generally are categorized into water-based, oil-based, synthetic or semisynthetic, and solid (dry) film.
- Water-based metal forming lubricant or soluble oils contain emulsions or micro-emulsions. It has great cooling characteristics but lack lubricity. And it is ideal for high-speed applications and can be sold in concentrates.
- Oil-based metal forming lubricants provide great lubricity characteristics and long service life but sometimes lack additive solubility.
- Synthetic and semisynthetic metal forming lubricants are designed to deliver very high cooling capabilities. Synthetics can be emulsified with water to offer better lubricity.
- Solid or dry film metal forming lubrication is the use of solid materials such as graphite in conjunction with or without oil or water. Mainly used in extreme conditions such as low shaft speeds, high and low temperatures, and high pressures.
Applications
Metal forming processing lubricants are designed to cover maximum applications which includes for wire drawing, cold forming, punching, fine blanking, Sheet metal stamping, Drawing and deep drawing, Fine blanking, Seamless tube pilgering, Welded tube rolling, Tubular Hydroforming, Cold rolling, deep drawing as well as sheet metal rolling. Wherever the lubrication requirement is a fluid to offer anti-wear, high lubricity, improved surface finish on many machines designs we have the product industry needs. Also, it provides extended sump life in large volume central systems and is designed for the easy removal of mill scale, metal fines, and tramp oil. It will perform on both ferrous and nonferrous materials or bimetallic sheets. Used in neat form and can be applied by dipping or brushing
